The Indian consumer electronics industry has seen phenomenal growth and success in the last 5 years. Strong economic growth, coupled with increased purchasing power, will therefore continue to drive demand for consumer electronics over the next five years. In the backdrop of the above facts and to further catalyze the exponential growth of the industry, ITEN Media in association with CEAMA has launched the Home Electronics Show 2012 (HES-New Delhi), an international trade show scheduled from 26-28 October 2012 at Hall No. 14, Pragati Maidan, New Delhi, India.

HES-New Delhi would offer an unprecedented opportunity for the global consumer durables industry to exhibit and explore in one of the most dynamic and fastest growing economies in the world and will create a cost effective and unified platform for the industry to showcase their products, offerings, capabilities and innovations in each of the consumer durables segment to the Indian consumer market.

China Pips US to be Top Smartphone Market
China passed the US top become the world’s largest smart Phone market by volume in the third quarter as the devices became cheaper and more widely available, research firm Strategy Analytics said.
Shipments in China reached a record 23.9 million units, up 58% from the second quarter, the Boston-based research firm said in a statement. That compares with a 7% drop to 23.3 million units in the US.
“China is now at the forefront of the worldwide mobile computing boom,” Neil Mawston, an analyst at strategy Analytics, said in the statement. “China has become a large and growing smart phone market that no hardware vendor, component maker or content developer can afford to ignore.”
The Chinese market is growing as wireless carriers offer more smartphones, including cheaper devices running Google Inc’s Android software and subsidized versions of Apple Inc.’s iPhone, the research firm said.
